About IIYF
An international youth and Ummah platform centered on knowledge, wisdom and consultation
Overview
The International Islamic Youth Forum (IIYF) is an international academic forum that aims to develop young people’s academic grounding in the Islamic sciences, to give them a holistic perspective across disciplines and to revive the culture of scholarly consultation. The forum seeks not merely to impart knowledge but to raise individuals who can analyze information, weigh differing views, form evidence-based judgments and act with an awareness of the responsibility their knowledge carries.
IIYF is designed as an original platform that brings the scholarly tradition built by Islamic civilization over the centuries together with contemporary approaches to education. Throughout the forum, participants examine classical and contemporary questions under the guidance of expert academics and educators, taking an active part in academic research, deliberation and the joint development of ideas. Learning thus goes beyond the transfer of theory and becomes practical and interactive, grounded in the awareness that knowledge is a responsibility that shapes life and society.
IIYF’s core approach rests on the understanding that knowledge, wisdom and consultation are essential not only to individual growth but also to the shared development of the Ummah and of humanity. Accordingly, the forum encourages young people to go beyond mastering their own fields and, with a sense of responsibility, to put their knowledge and abilities to work in addressing the challenges facing the Islamic world and in contributing to the scholarly, intellectual, moral and social development of the Ummah.
By bringing together young people from different fields of knowledge and different regions on common scholarly ground, IIYF aims to strengthen awareness of the Ummah, the spirit of brotherhood and a sense of shared responsibility. Encountering different views, assessing them by scholarly standards and developing a shared culture of consultation help raise a conscious, inquisitive and productive generation that will have a voice in the future of the Islamic world.
In this spirit, IIYF treats knowledge not merely as an academic achievement but as a trust (amanah) and a responsibility borne toward people, society and the Ummah. The forum offers a sustainable model of education and consultation that supports young people’s academic and spiritual growth, preparing them to carry the scholarly heritage of Islamic civilization into the future and to develop solutions to the issues of our time in line with their own values.
Why IIYF?
Although young people today have wider access to information than ever before, the skills of evaluating information properly, distinguishing reliable sources and analyzing them with scholarly methods are becoming more important by the day. In the Islamic sciences in particular, there is a growing need for academic platforms that go beyond the superficial transmission of information and are grounded in research, evidence-based evaluation, scholarly discipline and a culture of consultation.
This need is not merely a matter of individual education; it also matters because of the responsibility it carries for the future of the Islamic world. In Islamic civilization, knowledge has never been seen as a merely personal accumulation, but as one of the principal means of benefiting humanity, finding solutions to the problems of the Ummah and carrying the scholarly heritage of civilization into the future.
IIYF was established to meet this need. The forum offers a learning environment in which participants can consider different disciplines together, express their views within the framework of scholarly methods and experience the value of collective reasoning. Students thus do more than acquire knowledge: they become individuals who question and analyze it, evaluate it in the light of evidence and wisdom, and interpret it with an awareness of the responsibility it entails.
IIYF also helps young people become acquainted with the understanding of knowledge that has shaped Islamic civilization throughout history, and to reinterpret this heritage in light of the needs of our time. Aiming to build a bridge between the scholarly legacy of the past and the issues of today, the forum regards young people not merely as readers of an existing heritage but as representatives of the generation that will carry it forward and develop it.
In this respect, IIYF aims to bring young people from different regions together on common scholarly ground, strengthening the exchange of ideas, the bonds of brotherhood and the awareness of shared responsibility within the Ummah. One of the forum’s core goals is to equip participants to apply the knowledge they gain and the ideas they develop to the problems facing their own societies and, more broadly, the Islamic world.
IIYF is an international educational and intellectual initiative that brings the scholarly heritage of the past together with the needs of the future, aiming to raise well-qualified, conscious and capable generations centered on scholarly responsibility, wisdom, consultation and awareness of the Ummah.
Vision, Mission and Aims
Vision
IIYF’s vision is to build an exemplary international youth platform centered on knowledge, wisdom, ethics and consultation — one that sees knowledge not merely as a field of information and academic expertise but as a responsibility and a trust owed to humanity and the Ummah. IIYF aims to bring the heritage of knowledge and spiritual insight (irfan) that Islamic civilization has carried for centuries together with the needs of our age, to build bridges between disciplines, and to carry this heritage into the future alongside universal academic standards. The forum’s vision is not limited to producing successful academics or researchers; it extends to helping raise a generation that pairs its knowledge with wisdom and its competence with ethics, and that uses its means for the benefit of the Ummah and of humanity.
Mission
IIYF’s mission is to help young people develop the habit of research based on reliable sources, to cultivate a culture of scholarly consultation and reflection, to strengthen their analytical thinking and academic productivity, and to provide a learning environment in which they can pursue all of this with a sense of spiritual responsibility. IIYF treats knowledge not as a dry accumulation of information but as a value that helps people improve themselves, their society and the Ummah to which they belong. Accordingly, sincerity (ikhlas), justice, good manners (adab), respect, courtesy, fairness, commitment to evidence, humility and collective reasoning are among the forum’s core principles.
Core Principles

Core Aims
IIYF’s core aims include deepening young people’s knowledge and understanding of the Islamic sciences, developing a holistic perspective across different fields of knowledge, spreading a culture of research and reflection, strengthening scholarly communication and deliberation skills, and raising individuals who can assess the issues of our time in the light of the Islamic sciences, wisdom and moral responsibility.
Beyond the acquisition of knowledge, the forum aims to help raise a generation that makes sense of knowledge, turns it into wisdom and brings it to fruition as benefit. In this spirit, IIYF encourages young people not only to learn the scholarly heritage of the past but to embrace it, develop it and pass it on to future generations. Its ultimate goal is to help raise a conscious, responsible and productive young generation that strives to act upon its knowledge, to set an example through its character and to offer what it has gained for the good of the Ummah and of humanity.
Education Model and How It Works
Unlike the traditional conference format, IIYF adopts a hands-on education model that places participants at the center of the learning process. During the forum, participants research set academic topics, review sources and assess different perspectives within the framework of scholarly methods.
Committee work consists of preparation, deliberation, evaluation and the drafting of a joint text. Throughout this process, participants do not merely express their own ideas; they learn to listen carefully to different views, to find common ground and to develop ideas with academic courtesy.
The forum’s education model rests on research-based learning, active participation, critical thinking and collaboration. Participants thus get the chance to put theory into practice while gaining valuable experience in academic writing, presentation, teamwork and problem solving.
- 01
Preparation
The framework of topics and sources is set.
- 02
Deliberation
Differing views are weighed using scholarly methods.
- 03
Evaluation
Findings and possible solutions are compared.
- 04
Joint document
The committee’s conclusions and recommendations are put in writing.
The Triple Procedure
IIYF’26 is built on three complementary working formats so that participants can experience different forms of diplomatic and academic work.
- 01
Panel Session
Expert academics and scholars will address current issues under the theme “The Islamic World and Youth in the 21st Century”, sharing their knowledge and experience with participants. The sessions aim to introduce young people to different scholarly perspectives and broaden their intellectual horizons.
- 02
Committee Session
The main arena for deliberation and debate. Participants present their views on the set agenda, assess different approaches and work toward a well-founded shared understanding.
- 03
Summit
The final and highest stage of the triple procedure. The results of the previous sessions are assessed from a broader perspective, and differing views are reconciled to shape joint resolutions and final outcomes.
The chance to experience deliberation, crisis management and high-level decision-making within a single event.
Consultative Board
The Consultative Board is neither a conventional chairing body nor a panel that merely runs the procedure; it is an advisory guidance mechanism.
- Guidance: Advises participants on the process when needed.
- Facilitation: Helps deliberations proceed in a sound and orderly way.
- Participants’ agency: Decision-making authority remains with the participants.
Simultaneous committee work, the triple procedure system, trilingual deliberation and advisory support together create a realistic experience of negotiation and decision-making.
Three Things That Set IIYF Apart
IIYF offers an original model of academic education that goes beyond classic conference, seminar or debate formats. Its key difference is that it moves participants out of the role of passive listeners and makes them active parts of the processes of research, evaluation and the joint development of ideas.
The committee system, which brings different disciplines of the Islamic sciences under one roof, teaches participants to think from multiple angles while strengthening interdisciplinary interaction. Grounding academic content in reliable sources and adhering to scholarly methods are among the most important factors that raise the forum’s academic quality.
IIYF stands apart from similar events through a structure that encourages the production of knowledge rather than its mere transmission, prioritizes collective reasoning, supports a culture of research and fosters young people’s academic growth in a sustainable way. In this respect, the forum offers an innovative education model aimed at nurturing the researchers and thinkers of the future.
- 01
Active participation
Participants are not listeners; they are actors who research and produce shared outputs.
- 02
Interdisciplinary structure
Different fields of the Islamic sciences examine current issues from multiple angles.
- 03
Output and continuity
Sound, well-sourced work gives rise to joint outcome documents and long-term collaboration.

Participant Outcomes
IIYF aims not only to give participants academic knowledge but to raise them as individuals who research, question, produce and contribute to society. During the forum, students gain hands-on experience in many areas, including scientific research methods, use of sources, academic writing, effective presentation, teamwork and critical thinking.
Participants also learn to respect different views, to embrace the etiquette of scholarly debate, to make evidence-based assessments and to develop solutions through collective reasoning. These skills will benefit them not only in their academic lives but also in their social and professional lives.
By the end of the forum, participants leave the program with greater self-confidence, stronger communication skills, a research mindset and a comprehensive perspective on the core disciplines of the Islamic sciences.
